We are the movers and shakers in the fermented/alcoholic beverage industry. We make fermented and alcoholic beverages with the highest possible quality. We are the women and non-binary individuals that own the companies, package the product, design the labels, serve the drinks, write about our industry – and just about everything in between. Most importantly, we teach each other what we know through our own seminar programs, and we help each other advance both front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house careers by raising money for educational scholarships.

As a Quality Control Manager, Jill runs a small lab at Central Machine Brew Works, located in East Austin.
She propagates yeast, so you will find Jill constantly checking on the health of the baby yeast and growing them up a step to keep it in great condition while growing it up to a large enough batch to use in a 15-barrel batch of beer. She also checks the beer in the different stages of the brewing process and communicates the beer status with the brew team.
She also creates sensory tests with a panel of participants who give their feedback on each beer and then uses the data points when choosing whether or not to serve a beer or how to describe the beer. She also leads beer education sessions for our front-of-house staff.
Fish worked her way up in the beer industry over the past 6 years. Oregon really set her on the right path when she discovered homebrewing and began exploring the styles & history of beer.
She’s volunteered & run with Oregon Brew Crew, Oregon’s largest homebrew club & 2018 Radegast Homebrew Club of the Year. From retail, and bartending brand repping to finally assistant brewing, she really has worn all the hats.
This year she is happy to add the Pink Boots chapter to her repertoire of roles. Fish looks forward to sharing her experience, skills, and passion for all things craft with the Austin community. Cheers!
